Journal History

"Ophthalmology in Russia" magazine has been published since 2004. Over the last decade our magazine has firmly established itself as one of the leaders among academic & research publications. The magazine owes such success mainly to its publisher Professor V.V.Kurenkov, chief editor Professor V.N.Trubilin and deputy chief editor D.D.Dementyev.

Dearly departed Professor G.S.Polunin (http://www.niigb.ru/), who left behind him his apprentices and followers, as well as N.I.Martirosova (http://www2.viniti.ru/), his close associate since student years, Candidate of Medical Science, who for a long time was "Ophthalmology in Russia" magazine executive editor, also significantly contributed to the foundation and evolution of the magazine.

Vast experience of working with scientific publications throughout many years as well as deep knowledge, up-to-date scientific research and practice of ‘Ophthalmology’ magazine founders allowed us to combine in our magazine main characteristics of a leading scientific publication which relies on traditional approaches and at the same time meets modern international requirements.

We are grateful to our authors for sending us up-to-date, interesting and very informative articles which broaden ophthalmologists’ perspective. We also appreciate longstanding cooperation with pharmaceutical companies who do not only support ‘Ophthalmology’ magazine but also provide our readers with information on modern possibilities of pharmacotherapy and innovation technologies in ophthalmology.

We would like to express our special gratitude to the editorial board of ‘Ophthalmology’ magazine composed of ophthalmologists from Russia and foreign countries who are at the forefront of main ophthalmological fields. Cooperation with them does not only improve the quality of our magazine but also allows us to maintain its status at the highest international level.
